Guitar Hero World Tour Might Just Teach Real Drum Abilities
Video games sure have improved since the old days of Pong and all the old favorites of yesterday. Who could have imagined years ago that a video game would be used to teach new skills?
Guitar Hero is one video game that is exciting to play, but it has been said by Harmonix Music that if you can play the Rock Band drum set on the ‘hard’ setting, you should be able to play the drums for real! Question is though are you really drumming, or just copying the pattern you see on the screen? If you are able to play along with the video game, that does not translate into the real world and does not mean you will be able to play a real drum kit. The real world of drumming requires the ability to read music, which is not taught in the game; fantastic coordination and rhythm. If you can’t read music you will probably not be able to play real drums unless you are musically talented and have the instincts to know what to play. Bands today don’t use electronic drums like were so common in the 1980′s . A real drum kit gives you actual control over the sound of the notes, their length, volume and more.
A real drummer will never need to buy World Tour cymbal repair cable, because real cymbals don’t have a cable that is so badly made that they always break.
Even a basic drum kit is far more complicated than the Guitar Hero or Rock Band drum kit. For those wanting to make the switch, I’m sure the mental image of a real drum kit is overwhelming! Imagine sitting on stage with your drums, with the knowledge that your band mates and screaming fans all depend on you. If you get to that point you must be a excellent drummer, but for a novice even the Rock Band drum kit can be too much.
Learning drumming starts with knowing have to keep the beat. If you can keep rhythm, can you play the drums? Not reality, no. A quality drummer adds their creativity to the song and enhances it as well as providing a base rhythm for the rest of the band to follow. You may not always think about the drums, but if you were to take them out of the song you definitely would notice for sure!
So, can Rock Band teach you to play like a pro? Probably not, but they can help you with the basics. Learn the basics by playing the Xbox games, practice your counting out the beat, and you will be starting your one way journey to becoming famous! Just don’t forget to pick up a replacement Guitar Hero cable before one breaks!
