Brother HL 6050DN printer toner, An Out Of The Box Network Printer

Brother has the reputation of providing bargain basement products for the consumer. In a reevaluation of their marketing concepts, Brother has produced the HL 6050DN Toner, a monochrome laser printer that can compete competitively with comparable printers produced by other manufacturers.

Brother provides instant networkability in the HL-6050DN. An Ethernet 10/100 interface allows the HL-6050DN to be included into the network seamlessly and transparently. One of the major advantages of the HL 6050DN Toner Cartridge is its capacity. While competitors only offer 250 sheet paper trays of letter sized stock, the HL6050DN provides 500 sheet (full ream) paper trays that have the ability to hold either letter or legal sized paper. A single paper tray is provided with the printer and an optional second paper tray permits the user to place letter sized paper in one tray and legal sized in the second. The availability of a copious amount of paper in different sizes permits faster and simpler utilization of this printer.

Volume sized paper trays require toner cartridges and drums that provide supplies for volume printing. The TN6070 toner cartridge has the capacity for printing 7500 pages. 30,000 pages will need to be printed before the DR600 drum will need replacement. The high volume drum/toner cartridge combination provides low cost per page printing while maintaining the availability of the printer.

Brother has designed the HL6050DN for the network environment. With that in mind, 32MB of memory is provided as standard. Should the memory in the printer need to be expanded Brother has provided a slot, which will accept additional memory chips. These chips are available as 16MB, 32MB, 64MB and 128MB. The ability to expand the printers’ memory in various sizes permits the small business workgroup to customize the printer for their exact needs.

Other printers may print faster, however the HL-6050DN will print at 18 ppm. for as long as it is needed to. This speed, combined with 10-12 seconds startup time for the first page provides sufficient speed for all but the most exceptional situation that arises in the small business.

Setup of the HL-6050DN is quick and simple. The Quick Start utility program provided by Brother allows even the most inexperienced person to quickly and accurately provide the utilities that are necessary for the printer to operate. Changes to the program can be accomplished either from the computer’s system tray or a file resident in the computer.

No matter what platform the small business has based its network on, the Brother HL-6050DN can adapt to it. The HL-6050DN is at home in Windows, Apple OS and Linux environments. The printer fits seamlessly and transparently in any environment. This ability is a great asset to any small business and negates the possible purchase of a new printer should network environments be changed.

In the HL-6050DN, Brother has made significant advances in both quality and competitiveness. The low initial price, combined with the economies of the Brother HL 6050DN Toner Cartridge and The Brother DR600 drum provide significant cost savings to the small business without sacrificing product quality.
